[MIDI] That unique ID thingy

  • Subject: [MIDI] That unique ID thingy

In MIDIServices.h there is a lenghty essay about why having persistent device
IDs is cool, and in true, it's indeed, cool.

Save that when I try to get those IDs from my Edirol SC8820 (using Edirol's
own driver) with MIDIObjectGetIntegerProperty(..
kMIDIPropertyConnectionUniqueID ..) it returns kMIDIUnknownProperty.
I tried on the device and on both input and output endpoints. Am I doing
somethign wrong?

So I'm back at using a hash of munufacturer + model + port name..

Michel
