No. Technically, they're not duplicates. One is the input half of the
headset (mic), and the other is the output half (earpiece). If you discard
one, you won't be able to transfer audio in that direction.

Look at what Daisy shows you for a clearer idea of how your hardware is being
presented to the software system. My USB Audio device (eMagic EMI 2|6) shows
up as two unidirectional devices also, just as Jeff predicts.
