I've recorded 3 hours without clicks with the iMic under MacOS9 with Digital
Performer using the soundApp drivers (though I had hard time finding wich
network/clock menu bar settings would let me do that) on a titanium (also works
with an iBook).
Using the sound manager gain control will add plenty of noise.
The iMic however will always procude pops on playback, really decieving.
On Jaguar, the sound settings will not show the 48k/20 bit recording mode of the
iMic.
Alas, for MacOS X 10.1, I found no application that would record without pops,
all the applications I tried where carbon apps I think. I didn't found CoreAudio
apps.
Recently I tried a PowerBook G3, second generation (no USB) and I was impressed
with the included input. It's far far better than the iMic. I didn't try that
under MacOS X yet: I will.
If someone have experience with other usb audio cards.
