Thanks MUCH to Robert Grant and his iMidi application
(
http://homepage.mac.com/grantedsw) , I have solved my problem with
using Sibelius on the road.
a) Launch iMidi
b) Launch REASON
c) Set REASON to use iMidi
d) Create some virtual samplers
e) Set REASON's Advanced Midi settings to use iMidi
f) Launch Sibelius
g) Choose Substitute Devices
h) Select local.iMidi
i) Open Sibelius mixer for score
j) Set device to local.iMidi
k) Set channels for instruments etc
I no longer have the 1/2 pitch problem I was experiencing with QT.
With QT 6.02 on my Pismo 500 running 10.2.2, I was experiencing the
following problem:
1) Start playback of a score via "P" key
2) Stop playback via "O" key
3) edit note(s)
The pitch of a note would be 1/2 step below what it should be.
The solution using QT / Sibelius was to open the Devices... menu, and
TEST the QT synth - which plays a C major scale, asc/desc. Return to
the score and pitches will be accurate. However, every time you
playback, and stop during playback, pitches will be again be off by
about 1/2 step - requiring you to use the Devices menu etc.
With iMidi and Reason, I can't reproduce this pitch issue.
I don't know if the QT problem is related to the excessive vibrato and
reverb issues discussed (and apparently fixed for a future release).
