MIDI in Classic & X

Hi List,

I want to be able in classic environment and in Mac OS X to get Midi Events (so Carbon Code)

CoreMIDI only runs in X, OMS only runs in 9 (and I can't find the SDK), would QuickTime be a solution (although the documentation is not up to date) ?

Could someone points me to some relevant documentation ?
I also want to have some code in C or C++ that basically says "I'm here, here's my callback, now send me midi !" ? (which would run on 9 & X, is that possible ?)

(I've try to find docs but docs on quicktime is not ok, and some sample code that would have interested me do not compile, especially functions which I'm interested for...:/)

Thanks,

Raphael
