The HAL presents each IOAudioEngine object attached to each IOAudioDevice
object in the driver as it's concept of a device.

Last I checked, the EMI requires a kernel extension that uploads its
firmware to it before it will be recognized as a USB audio device. I would
get in touch with Emagic about it.
