Implementing a Music Player

Hi,

I wish to replace the music player, with something more suited to my needs (multiple loops for instance).

I plan to connect to a Synth Unit. I would like to send notes when the synth unit is about to generate the buffer.
I saw that they are callbacks in the audio units for that, but I believe that they are already used by the AuioGraph. Are they? In this case, are they callbacks I could use?

Now if I want to do that with MIDI, I have to use timers. Is that right?

As usual, any examples ? :). I was hoping that new sample code would be released at the WWDC about CoreAudio as I read on the list a few weeks ago.
