Hmm, that doesn't quite seem like the right thing to do to me.
If it turns out that the dropouts I am experiencing no longer happen in 10.2
then it may no longer be relevant anyway. Don't get /me/ wrong I have no
desire to enter an "arms race". I simply need to ensure that just one thread
can get it's time without interruption. Enabling the user to adjust some
bounds (within reason) does not seem like a bad thing to me.
