Closing the view component from the AU side
instead of the host side could upset a host ?

For Logic: Yes. The plugin window in Logic can be set to a mode in which it always displays the currently selected plugin. So the same window is used for different plugin views. Also Logic displays own controls at the top of the plugin view, so hiding it will make this controls unusable. Yet we see the need to adjust our plugin window handling to the features of Audio Units (resizable windows, multiple windows, etc.). We will support all this in the future but currently neither closing the window nor hiding it from the plugin's side is a good idea.
