new to sound

New also to application programming.

I'm looking for documentation and/or sample code to help me get
a leg-up on audio processing under MacOSX. I've done a once-
through of the coreaudio.pdf file and Tim Klientzle's 1997 Programmer's
Guide to Sound.

Are there any OSX-specific samples "out there" that would demonstrate
how to create PCM data and play it through the speakers? That'd be
a great start!

So far it looks like I'll want to build an AUGraph of AudioUnits. Then
call HAL either implicitly through the last AudioUnit node of the graph,
or explicitly somehow.

Advice greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance -
Scott
