Here's a related question. I'm guessing this is meant for me to use if I'm
creating the AU host. To your knowledge, would it be at all possible to
write a small utility app that could register this dls file, yet be
accessible from another AU host (say Logic)? I'm guessing not. My
experience with QuickTime's NA would only allow you to deal with a component
instance you had initialized and created a NAChannel for, so that registered
music device would only be accessible from that component instance (and
therefore that host app). Is this the case with audio unit component
instances as well?
Perhaps a better question would be...
Is there anyway (other than writing my own AU) to make it so Logic (or any
other app that can host AUs) can access dls files other than the default GS
one?
