Unfortunately I'm having problems with external devices. I can create
an external device and hook it up to the AMT8 in Audio MIDI Setup.
However, when I quit Audio MIDI Setup and run it again, the connections
have disappeared. Connections work correctly with the other other MIDI
drivers I have (MOTU and M-Audio), so it looks like the Emagic driver
is at fault here.
(More detail: it looks like the connections persist as long as the
MIDIServer is running. That is, if I make a connection in AMS, start
another MIDI app, and quit AMS, the connections are still present.
Starting AMS again will show the connections. But if I quit all MIDI
apps, then the connections are not present the next time any MIDI app
starts.)
