RME (www.rme-audio.com) has a really great PCI or PC Card (aka pcmcia
aka cardbus?) interface
with a breakout box that has 3xADAT (+ 1 or 8 analog I/O) depending on
the model. (and midi too but i'm not sure about coremidi support)
(
http://www.rme-audio.de/english/hdsp/index.htm). I have one here on a
PC and it's the best
audio interface i ever had.
The have beta OSX drivers, but i have never tested them with my pismo.
Maybe someone else on this
list can comment on these drivers?
MOTU makes the 828 (and 896) firewire interfaces (there is a
pre-release beta driver with OSX for the 828). I don't own these and
never tested them neither. These are not cardbus interfaces but they
work on a laptop so i guess they meet your requirements.
However, both of these are high-quality multichannel devices, and are
not cheap. For simple stereo recording, i guess a 'small' usb interface
will do just fine. I have a Roland UA30 here and it's ok. I can use 512
frames output latency without a problem, and with little cpu usage (it
also has a builtin mic amplifier and level control as well as s/pdif
coax and opti). There are several other usb devices available for osx
(emagic 2|6,...)

Does anyone know of a PC Card which works with OS X to allow me to add
