Yes, samples for all channels comes from a single source.

Cards such as the Sonorus STUDI/O support multiple alternative configurations - 1 16ch devivce or 2 * 8Ch devices, or 4 * 4-ch devices, etc. The ideal is for the user to be able to create one or more virtual devices with N channels, up to the available limit.

I agree that providing the user with a GUI to create virtual devices would be ideal, but if I do that it will have to wait for at least version 2 of the driver...


Out of interest, how many output channels does this device support?

It's got 12
