IOAudioControl for arbitrary device data

  • Subject: IOAudioControl for arbitrary device data

I need to create a control with a few bytes of data that the device published
for anyone who cares to get it.
I tried to use an IOAudioControl with an OSData, but the userland application
AudioDeviceGetproperty returns 0x77686f3f (wich I assume means "no, go away,
you" in whatever .h file those are surely extensively documented ;-))

Anyone managed to do that? Note I don't want to attach that control to one
particular stream, it's not relevant in that case.

Michel
