Core Audio replacement for ASIO Positioning Protocol

Currently, Sample Accurate Audio Transfers between ADAT Machines and Digital Audio Workstations is possible, if an audio interface supports ASIO 2.0 Positioning Protocol(APP), and if the DAW software such as Cubase supports the feature.

Does Core Audio have a replacement for APP ???? If so, what is the name of this part of the spec, as I am sure it will not be a required part of spec, to be implemented by all audio interface drivers. And I want to choose future audio interface manufactures who will support this in their drivers.

Apple has purchased Emagic's Logic, which has never been able to handle Sample Accurate Audio Transfers. I am hoping if this is Available in Core Audio, Logic will take advantage of it, and finally allow sample accurate audio transfers using ADAT sync. I realize Logic will also have to implement a sample based grid in their arrange window before this is possible.
