Doesn't happen here. I tested this on a PB G4/400 and a Dual 1000.
I have rather simple sequences, though -- so maybe it depends on the size/complexity of the sequence?

I just filed a bug report for this...

MusicPlayerPreroll seems to defeat MusicSequence playback under
MacOS 10.2.5. I was calling it before every playback (I assumed that
if the music sequence had changed I need to call it again). Under 10.2.4
this approach didn't hurt anything, but under 10.2.5 it makes playback
stutter or fail altogether.

Removing all calls to MusicPlayerPreroll() fixed the problem.
