This is what Jeff pointed out but to a more detailed level:
Set the property 'IOAudioDeviceLocalizedBundle' to be name of your kext, e.g
'MyDriver.kext'. This is the path relative to /SystemLibrary/Extensions/.
This property belongs to your IOKitPersonality.
Include 'Localizable.strings' in your bundle, e.g.
Resources/English.lproj/Localizable.strings. This file includes descriptions
like this:
ThisIsMyPlaceholder = "This the real text";
Now use the IDs in your source code, e.g.
setDeviceName( "ThisIsMyPlaceholder");
Your strings will show up localized.
With kind regards

Which sample code is that? PhantomAudioDriver does not seem to do any

We would like to localise this string, but Apple themselves has not done

it, so I really would appreciate a link to example that does it properly.
