I think the plan is actually to update these pieces on Jaguar systems

I'd recommend that you use the MM if at all possible - we spend alot of
time optimisting this (and it also does metering :), and you can get
both panning and down-mixing volumes from the AudioFormat API - all in
all, it saves you alot of work.
Where can I get more information about the new MatrixMixer AU? From
what you wrote so far, it sounds like it could be just what I need for
my thesis project, but being just a Student ADC member that did not
attend WWDC, I do not have the 10.3 seed. I am not begging for a copy
of Panther here (so please, no "generous" off-list offers about how I
can get 10.3 via strange download tools) but it would help me a lot if
I could get a description of what the MM exactly is doing, especially
if and how I can use it to mix streams of various formats to 6-10
output channels. Having this available in 10.2.x that gets released
before the public version of 10.3 would be even better, as I'm on a
deadline and "before the end of the year" could be too late. Though, I
will talk to my supervisor on wether we have the budget for a ADC
seeding key that'd allow me to work with the new node.
Thanks,
Stefan
