Good luck, Urs.
While this probably can technically be done, you will have to deal not
only with x86 emulation, but also DLL, system calls (malloc, read/write
files...) and so on.
When you see all the efforts that have been put into the Linux/Wine
project for a still far from perfect result... And they don't even have
the processor emulation and endianess problem.
The easiest way would probably to use a modified Boch project, boot
Windows from it (or Linux/Wine), launch a x86 VST host from it with a
fake MIDI/Audio driver you use to communicate with your MacOS X fake
AU.
You'll probably have time to finish all of the Zoo AU collection before
this happens in a usable way !

with the advent of the G5, wouldn't it be viable to build an AU that
emulates x86 and hosts some of the more interesting x86 only VSTs? -
Shouldn't that work if one uses a generic gui?
Cheers,
;) Urs
(saving credits if anybody comes up with this, hehe)
