using MIDI from java on OS X - where is the API?

  • Subject: using MIDI from java on OS X - where is the API?

My java app plays back MIDI using the java sequencer
just fine, but I would like to add playback via
external MIDI devices. This was fairly easy on the PC
but I can't find any API for mac. I'm using 10.2.8
and JavaVM 1.4.1_02 and would like to target the app
for users w/ same versions, unless of course 10.3 is
simply _the_answer_.

Thanks in advance,
-TOM.
