Hello,
Maybe I am not the best (in the sense of being a Mac Orthodox) person to
answer this question, but I can recommend you a cross-platform API that
works - it is the Open Source AudioFile library, by Michael Pruett.
However, it is a standard C UNIX, GUI independent File I/O interface,
but it's 100% reliable for audio file mainpulation.
http://www.68k.org/~michael/audiofile/
It has nothing to do with Desktop integration, File Reply Dialog boxes
and other double-clickable stuff.
It is GUI independent.
I believe there are also Apple's proprietary File I/O routines
(QuickTime, GUI based, etc...), but I also haven't found proper
documentation, so far...
Best Regards,
Stanko

Hello!
I want to write a simple music player(for example a simple aiff file player).
I think , I need some infomation about aiff(or wave) file format, and
audio data IO routine.
So, can someone recommend some online documents or some tutorial?
I searched already through Internet, but I could get just something like
Core Audio or
Sound Manager Doc. ...etc form ADC. It is very kind when someone recommend
to me an online tutorial.
sorry for my poor english
bye.
