How to send pan or volume messages to my AU music device in Logic

Hi everyone,

Having inserted a stereo-output music device in a stereo audio object in Logic, I wish to send a pan or volume message to my music device (which is multitimbral and receiving on all channels). The trouble is the audio object interrupts these messages and changes it's own pan or volume.

Is there any way around this or do I have to implement standard MIDI controls using undefined controls (not a good idea).

Thanks,
Malcolm Haylock
