Maintaining Midi Thru

Hi,

My AMT 8 interface is set to echo midi back out.
As soon as I create a client: MIDIClientCreate(CFSTR("My App"), NULL,
NULL, &client);
, this connection is then lost. I know I can echo the packets myself
(as in MidiEcho),
but is it possible to just maintain the existing thru connection?
