MIDIGetNumberOfDestinations()

I have 2 Opcode Studio 4 MIDI interfaces and when I use MIDIGetNumberOfDestinations() I get 17 destinations. I was expecting 16 destinations (8x2). Can someone please explain this for me? What are destination 17?
