Hi All,

I'm wondering if any of you have encountered the following problem. I'm trying to use the QuickTime's Sequence Grabber under OS 10.2 to capture audio from MOTU 828 FireWire Audio device. As soon as I select the 828 in the Sound Settings dialog, the program crashes.

Is it just me -- or is any one else seeing this? It is crashing in a routine called BlitFloat32ToSInt16 -- I'm not sure if this is in the 828 driver or in Core Audio.

Here's my procedure with HackTV

1) Plug in the MOTU 828

2) Download Apple's HackTV from their developer site -- a bare bones capture utility

http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/Sample_Code/QuickTime/Capturing/HackTV_Carbon.htm

3) Run the program -- it will probably default to capturing sound from the built-in audio controller (mic input or line input)

4) Open the Sound Settings dialog

5) Select the MOTU 828 as an input source

6) Shortly thereafter, HackTV will crash.

Any insight or common experiences greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark
