I'd imagine most of us still need to accommodate OS9 users. As far as
I know, we're still planning on supporting OS9 for our next releases
(for VST, MAS, RTAS/TDM). I'm certainly doing the work for it,
anyway! I suppose what we could use is a market survey as to how many
users will still be in OS9 by year end. (Any volunteers? :-))

If education is a target market, there are many school Macs lacking
enough horsepower to run OSX. Even if the older Macs are OSX-possible,
a school might not necessarily have funds to upgrade licenses on all
relevant OSX application updates.
At summer NAMM, spoke to a studio owner who owns a ProTools just old
enough that it won't be supported in OSX, but just new enough that it
ain't paid off yet. Said he will be on OS 9 quite awhile, until his
ProTools is amortized sufficiently to buy a new ProTools.
Dunno his system details, or if the guy was even telling the truth...
But if there's one guy in that situation, there are probably thousands
of similar customers, all potential OS 9 software sales opportunities--
especially if the big dogs quit supporting OS 9 for new development
(GRIN).
