That's probably because they are the same device. Ask USB Prober. :-)

I also tried with Emagic MT4, with which I had even more problems. Sometimes a few messages were lost, sometimes all.

In that case, this is sounding less like a driver problem and more like an application or system problem.

It didn't work with a delay either, by the way.

I test my driver with lots of apps. One scenario involves PlayNotes, a loopback cable, and MIDI Monitor. As far as I know (haven't looked in a while), PlayNotes opens a port and starts playing right away. I haven't seen any problems like the ones you describe.
