Oh yeah, and I should have added that, of those 3 apps, only 1 has been
through a paid revision since hosting AUs and that's Logic. So the only
legacy AU hosting code that's really of any concern is Logic 5 for Logic
users who have not upgraded to 6. So the worst case is that you'd have
that that group of users would be left out. But, if you compare this to a
comparable situation with any other API, you will realize how totally
trivial that is compared to the sorts of problems with supporting weird
behavior due to legacy code and historical mis-practices. So I think that
it would be quite easy to try to prevent such trends from developing at
this point, and that would be much much better than waiting until later
(too late) to worry about this...
