Matt, I'm not at all sure what you are talking about. Apps like Logic
just call the HAL. The HAL never calls getCurrentSampleFrame() itself
because it derives all it's timing information solely from the time
stamps in the status block and it's own interpolation engine.
So, from the HAL and it's clients' perspective getCurrentSampleFrame()
doesn't matter.

Actually this is really important. Apps like Logic call this all the
time to see where you are for audio/MIDI synchronization. This should
be pretty accurate and not jitter too much.
If you don't get this right you will see an error dialog box in logic.
