Well, I've gone through all mails I have on my @work machine (it lacks
every Friday and Saturday), and couldn't find it. But I definately
remember this having been mentioned twice, something like "direct
referencing is highly dis-regarded".
However, Bill says something about using C callbacks instead of C++
object references here:
