Can't think of any off the top of my head.. though I agree this is a useful
thing to provide... you could also ask the host whether it favours a
certain style of UI (Aqua, brushed-metal, "Apple creative apps"
FCP4/Soundtrack look), and whether it favours multitimbral or monotimbral
operation. It's also useful to be able to identify the host... VST has
host::getProductString and host::getVendorString, not sure if there's an
equivalent in AU so far.
