PortMidi is a portable C-language API for basic MIDI I/O. PortMidi is
implemented for Windows, Linux/ALSA, and OS X. The OS X branch is
currently not maintained and could use some work to make it consistent
with the other versions. If anyone using OS X and MIDI would like to
contribute, please contact me directly, and I'll fill you in on the
details.

PortMidi is part of PortMusic (http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~music/portmusic),
an effort to create and share API's for computer music.

Thanks,
Roger Dannenberg (email@hidden)
