porting real-time audio capture to OSX

  • Subject: porting real-time audio capture to OSX

I have a telephone-like application which uses SPBRecord with an
SIInterruptProc to capture a continuous sequence of short (e.g., 50 msec)
audio segments, for transmission over the network. It works fine on OS9,
but when running on OSX it produces a robotic voice. I'm trying to decide
whether to continue fiddling with the Carbon code, or switch to the OSX core
audio API's.

SHOULD I be able to get this to work properly with the Carbon API's? Or are
there known problems?

If I do decide to switch to OSX core audio, can anyone point me to sample
code that would be relevant to this type of task?

Thanks,

Tim
