HAL Device question

Hi,

At the level of the HAL, is it possible to create an Audio Device that
connects to several distinct IO Audio Devices? (But say one at a time.)
If yes, where could I find documentation (or sample code) on how
to achieve this (or something similar)? Thanks a lot,
