Stephane,
I'm not sure what could be causing the problem you're seeing. We've
certainly tested the DLS synth at buffer sizes smaller than 256
with no problems, so using it in isolation or in an AUGraph works
for us... I don't think we've tested small buffer sizes
using the QTMA APIs. How are you setting the buffer size to be
smaller than 256 when using QTMA? It would probably be a good idea
for you to file a bug about this, giving as much detail as possible.
Ideally, source code recreating the problem would be helpful to us.
Thanks,
Chris Rogers
Core Audio
Apple Computer
Hi,
We have an application that use the QuickTime Musical Instrument API and
use another CoreAudio IO callback in the same process.
After QuickTime 6.4 upgrade on Jaguar and on Panther, the QuickTime Musical
Instruments where not working anymore (no sound). After some
investigations, we found out that the problem occur only when the CoreAudio
IO callback use a buffer size < 256.
No error code is returned at any moment using the QuickTime Musical
Instrument API. We tried also to use the DLS Synth API, with exactly the
same problems.
Is this a know bug?
Thanks
Regards
Stephane Letz
