Great. I will tell my folks to update to Panther 10.3.1.
Unless this is a problem somewhere else, this hasn't been "fixed" by
core audio - we're not in 10.3.1 - are you sure there's any difference
here between 10.3 and 10.3.1?

is the sample rate for the ASBD you're passing in zero to start with?
if so, i don't know if that would count as a bug or a feature. :)
No. I passed in a reasonable sample rate similar to what you did. It
worked
in Jaguar.
