Hi All,
We're about to do a public beta on a "first of its kind" audio plug-in for iTunes. I wanted you folks to know that this is not only possible, but very solid. We worked with Rogue Amoeba and their Audio Hijack technology. So new opportunity for developers on this list.
Last year, I wrote a version 1 audio unit along with a player app in Cocoa. Then a version 2 audio unit. But we were not convinced of the economic viability. So we didn't release them. With this iTunes audio plug-in we're going to "test the waters," with a public beta this Monday, Octiober 13. This is our first Mac effort.
The people on this list have been exceptionally helpful to me over the last year and a half during these development efforts. We're a very small shop, so I had to carry the whole thing. I'm very grateful for this list!
So I thought you might like to have a go with it before everyone else.
It's your basic real time, multi-band dynamics processor. We're using our "consumer" UI, instead of our full on pro UI, which could follow.
