AU Frustration! Help!!!

Hi! I'm trying to write my own AU effect, but I'm having trouble compiling my code.

If I modify SampleEffectUnit.cpp by inserting my own DSP code, it compiles and works just fine.
However, I have no idea how to do the following:

1) change the name, creator, icon, etc. of the target

2) create an AudioUnit from scratch (IE. not just by modifying the example prodived with the AU SDK)

I'm using the latest AU SDK and XCode.
My AU doesn't do anything fancy: it just adjusts the amplitude of each input sample.

How do I create an AudioUnit project in XCode from scratch? What frameworks do I have to include? Are there any tutorials out there on getting started?

Thanks in advance any help you can give me :)

Andrew
