I think 240 is a max. When people want to do more, they actually use a "half" tempo... 160 bpm, for example, with a "double time feel". The same is true for veeeery slow tempi ("half time feel").

Sounds like I better make it user settable just in case someone does
want to go a bit higher than say 500!
