AudioUnits & midi

Hi,

I've started (again) looking into creating virtual instrument AudioUnits...
And once again I'm confused about the midi note handling

The way I see it there are 2 sets of functions inherited from different classes which do the same thing!

AUMIDIBase::HandleNoteOn ()
MusicDeviceBase::StartNote ()

Can anybody tell me (of point me in the right direction) the difference between these two? which one will actually receive the incoming notes? or do i need to override them both?

Thanks,
Nick
