Feeding QuickTime Audio tracks to CoreAudio Output devices

Folks.

Does anyone know if its possible to direct a multi-audio track QuickTime movie to use each mono audio track on a discrete physical output of a multichannel Core Audio device ?

I know that in the past it has been possible to connect quicktime audio tracks to Sound Manager Output devices. Wondered if someone could clarify the situation with CoreAudio devices (many of which only supply a single stereo pair as a Sound Manager output device connection).

The key here is that QuickTime is handling playback and routing of the sound (after the setup), not real time core audio code in my app.

Thanks

Mark Gilbert.
