I don't think that logging out or rebooting is ever actually necessary. I've never seen a case where simply bumping the mod time of the Components directory didn't solve it. So doing these shell commands will solve that:


touch /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
touch ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

It's a good idea to add that sort of thing to AU installers, by the way. As opposed to what some people do which is to create installers that require a reboot, a horrid user experience and totally unnecessary.
