Hi Sanri,

I've never worked with AUs, but since no one else responded I'll try and help a bit.

You can create a Cocoa UI for your AU, however right now it won't be compatible with audio apps that expect a Carbon UI. From what I've read on the list it looks like you can use ObjC in your AU at least to some degree, but I'm not sure if you can escape C++ completely - though if I were writing one I'd sure try :)

In the CoreAudio SDK, available at least from the ADC site and probably installed with the Xcode tools, there are some AU examples. I don't think there are any virtual instrument examples.

Hope this helps.

Hi everybody,

I'm a new subscriber, a decent Cocoa programmer but totally new to
CoreAudio.
I'd like to create a virtual instrument in form of an Audio Unit.
Are there on the net resources and informations regarding how to start?
Is it possible to code fairly in Cocoa without using C++ or whatsoever?
Any good tutorial?
Thank you very much for your help!
