Quicktime media type creation and registration

are there any examples of this beyond the MYComponent examples up there? we have a encoder/decoder for our media type and are trying to get it to work with Quicktime. all i need are a good example of this and the steps that is required to install and add this decoder on a system running quicktime..... oh and my two front teeth i need those as well.
