Classic no good for Midi?!?

Hiya,

first of all, a happy new year to everybody!

Then, there's a small but tricky thing. When I have Classic running within X (any 10.2), some part of the Midi system gets screwed up. To be precises, an application can use CoreMidi only every second launch. Kinda flip-flop behaviour. No error messages on Console...

No big deal for me, as I hardly ever run Classic. But a customer of mine is worried, as it might be the cause for problems he experiences...

Now: I always thought it was due to stuff I installed in 9 and my lazyness to deactivate Extensions, which happened to be a wrong assumption. It also happens with the innocent System 9 on my new machine with no Midi drivers and stuff at all.

Is this a known problem? Are there quick workarounds?

Cheers,

;) Urs
