Here is an update on the situation with the DigiDesign CoreAudio drivers for
the MBox. I was forwarded from the helpdesk at DigiDesign to the engineer
who wrote the CoreAudio driver. He told me that the SupportedApps.txt file
that his GUI writes did not have a valid entry for my app, even though my
app showed up in the GUI. Once we fixed that file, I was able to see the
MBox as an input device. The Digi drivers only support float32 samples so I
will need to add code to support that. Their engineer could not figure out
why the SupportedApps.txt file entry was not valid.

I was also contacted by a developer from usb-audio.com, who directed me to
www.usb-audio.com for their CoreAudio driver, which also supports the MBox
on OS X. I downloaded the free beta, as did my customer, and we were able
to get audio input from the MBox. The driver beeps every 30 seconds because
it is a free beta. My customer purchased the retail version of the beta and
is now happy that he can record through the MBox. So if there are others
out there with similar problems, you might consider trying the beta from
www.usb-audio.com.
