Speaking of HALLab telemetry

  • Subject: Speaking of HALLab telemetry

I'm trying to make my app have a single output unit to graphs of nodes are connected when their corresponding document window is main. Generally this is working but sometimes I get the System UI hang (with the mouse continuing to move) - I know this is my bug but I'm wondering what this might be a symptom of?

In the meantime I've fired up the HALLab to see what going on with the IO and after running for a little while this happened (I was doing anything at the time):

Thread 1 Crashed:
#0 0xffff8aa8 in __memcpy (__memcpy + 776)
#1 0x9019f9a4 in CFDataReplaceBytes (CFDataReplaceBytes + 356)
#2 0x901a73f4 in __CFDataInit (__CFDataInit + 500)
#3 0x90754c04 in HPIOCycleTelemetry::GetTelemetry(CACFDictionary const&) (HPIOCycleTelemetry::GetTelemetry(CACFDictionary const&) + 252)
#4 0x90756fc4 in HPTelemetryServer::HandleMessage(long, CACFDictionary const&) (HPTelemetryServer::HandleMessage(long, CACFDictionary const&) + 168)
#5 0x907570b4 in HPTelemetryServer::MessageHandlerEntry(__CFMessagePort*, long, __CFData const*, HPTelemetryServer*) (HPTelemetryServer::MessageHandlerEntry(__CFMessagePort*, long, __CFData const*, HPTelemetryServer*) + 164)
#6 0x901cc000 in __CFMessagePortPerform (__CFMessagePortPerform + 352)
#7 0x901a9c54 in __CFRunLoopDoSource1 (__CFRunLoopDoSource1 + 200)
#8 0x90191b20 in __CFRunLoopRun (__CFRunLoopRun + 1344)
#9 0x901960bc in CFRunLoopRunSpecific (CFRunLoopRunSpecific + 328)
#10 0x9073315c in HALRunLoop::OwnThread(void*) (HALRunLoop::OwnThread(void*) + 260)
#11 0x907393ac in CAPThread::Entry(CAPThread*) (CAPThread::Entry(CAPThread*) + 48)
#12 0x900247e8 in _pthread_body (_pthread_body + 40)

Is there a limit to how much data can be captured?

Thanks,

Robert.
