can you replicate this Jack/iTunes/SoundStudio behaviour?

Hi folks, hope you are all well.
I have : Panther, iTunes v 4.2, the Jack software and the Felt Tip
Sound Studio 2.1.
1.i start up Jack Server via the Jack Pilot
2.start up iTunes. get it playing a CD or something. iTunes turns up in
Jack's connections manager. good.
3. start up Sound Studio. bounce bounce bounce in the dock etc. Sound
studio turns up in Jack's connection manager. good.
4.i jack the iTunes Send to the SoundStudio receive.
5.in Sound Studio, i go to input/output setup , check that Jack Server
is selected
6. i click record and..............
......Sound Studio does a great job of recording the iTunes feed but
mixes both L and R into the L channel. despite it being a stereo audio
file.
nnngh.
10 points to anyone who spots my schoolboy error.
