Grabbing Incoming MIDI Time Code?

  • Subject: Grabbing Incoming MIDI Time Code?

Esteemed Sirs.

... please have mercy, for I am a Java WebObjects Programmer, who's of necessity, been thrown into the strange & wondrous land of COREAudio ... or uh, COREMIDI to be more specific ...

... my C Chops are rusty, my C++ ... let's not talk about that.

My Quest?

It sounds easy, and mercifully, perhaps it is ... but only time will tell ...

I have to somehow grab on demand a MIDI Time Code (MTC) TimeStamp, so that I can match a new record in FileMaker, to an exact time stamp, brought in over USB from an external SMPTE to MTC reader.

Basically, it's probably - at most - 100 lines or so of code (stuck inside of a custom FileMaker Plug-in) ...

Any clues or hints as to where to look to learn how to get at any MTC in CORE Audio?

Big Thanks In Advance
Charlie
